The question was raised as to what continent the Philippines belonged to (a quick Google search will tell you, Asia). However, this raises the question as to how we classify and assign islands to different continents and even asks what the heck are continents anyway??As is usually the case in life, satisfying our curiosity turns out to be a much more complex process than it may first appear. And it gets even crazier if you start trying to figure out countries!!!Consider reading this post in the "History Extras" section of the website, and how our complicated globe, full of continents and countries, tells a certain type of narrative.

Are you dizzy yet?
(Okay, okay, look, there’s a point beyond which
the mind of humanity is unable to cognize

Still curious?? | Still not satisfied?!? |
However, that did not satisfy certain scientists among the curious, and Mike Wright, a descendent, sought to provide some further insight. His findings were that, although the families ancestries were located far enough apart not to warrant any genetic resemblance, they both startlingly carried similar genetic traits, more than anywhere else in England, where both families were descended from. | After receiving the question about Frank Lloyd Wright's relation to the Wright Brothers of airplane history, I discovered that Frank Lloyd was known as the "Third Wright Brother" and I hastily informed the class of their relation. Consider that both families appear to have strong talents for engineering as well as Mike Wright's findings that, although the families earliest known locations are not near one another, the genetic traits of their people are remarkably similar. |
