CHAMP CHECKLIST
Independent Station (45 Minutes):
Step 1: Work on Achieve 3000.
You may work on EITHER a Math OR a Science article from the corresponding class
- Go to portal.achieve3000.com
- Log in using your Alliance gmail password and username
- Select either the Common Core Math or the Integrated Science class
- Open one of the assigned articles and complete the 5 Step Literacy Routine
a. Answer the Before Reading Poll question.
b. Read and annotate the article
–Select most important three paragraphs
–Write a two-sentence summary of each under Reading Connections
c. Begin the Activity. Refer back to the article to find text evidence before choosing every answer. Your 1st try score will be recorded in the grade book. Rubric: 100%=4, 88%=3, 75%=2, 63% and below NP-you will need to complete another article and activity to replace your score
d. Answer the After Reading Poll.
e. Answer the Thought Question. Be sure to include vocabulary terms and descriptive phrases from the article in your response.
Step 2: Choose a Focus Area in which you have not yet passed the assessment. You should complete them in this order:
1. Unit Rates & Proportionality (Power Focus)
2. Order of Operations (Additional Playlist)
3. Operation with Positive and Negative Integers (Power Focus)
4. Operations with Positive and Negative Rational Numbers (Power Focus)
5. Algebraic Expressions (Power Focus)
6. Solving Linear Equations & Inequalities (Power Focus)
7. Solving Linear Equations & Inequalities Word Problems (Additional Playlist)
8. Area, Surface Area, and Volume (Power Focus)
9. Solving for Unknown Angles (Additional Playlist)
10. Circumference & Area of Circles (Power Focus)
11. Drawing Inferences (Additional Playlist)
12. Probability of Single Events (Power Focus)
13. Probability of Compound Events (Additional Playlist)
If you have not already, take the diagnostic and review your score.
Step 3: Using the Math Note Template, take 1 page of notes on the objectives of the playlist in which you did not score well.
If you scored 4/4 on the diagnostic, then take notes on the resource(s) that sound most interesting to you, using the template.
Step 4: If you have taken a full page of notes on a playlist, then you may request the content assessment. Please raise your hand to let Mr. Bartlett know to approve your test.
Step 5: If you have completed all of the above, work on the History CATCH Annotations on Primary Sources (homework due in 4th period).
Step 6: If you have finished those annotations, you may request take any of the Reading Questions 1-3 that you are missing from the cabinet by the door, complete your study guide, and work on your CATCH Annotations packet on Aztec Civilization in order to prepare for your test in 4th period.
Step 7: If you finish all of the above, complete another Achieve 3000 article for Extra Credit, the Math Extra Credit worksheets, take more notes on a summit Math playlist, or work on one of the Extra Credit assignments on Google Classroom:

- Islam Hajj Project
- Medieval China G.R.A.P.E.S. Presentation
- Medieval Japan Webquest
Exit Ticket (10 Minutes):
Step 1: Discussion of Two Steps for Writing Equivalent Expressions
Step 2: Check for Understanding.
- Write a REEL/REEEEL (E.C.) about Question 3 to respond.
- All other questions write only an "R" or a Claim.
Step 3: Review your work so far on a scale of 1, 2, 3, 4. Explain your rating.
1-2: What mistakes did you find yourself making in class? How could you make a plan to improve?
3-4: What is a strategy you could tell a classmate that helped you in solving these types of problems?
